Hofbrauhaus Wolters is a 380 year old brewery based out of Brunswick Germany, in Lowery Saxony. Following the German Purity Laws of 1516, Wolters produces six differnt brews including their Schwarzer Herzog and Prinzen Sud. Their beers are all natural and made with only the finest hops, barley malt, and yeast. Iron Horse Beverage is proud to introduce Wolters Pilsener Premium to the area and show consumers how a true German Pilsener tastes.
400 Years of History
Hofbrauhaus Walters was founded in 1627 by Zaccharis Boiling. For over 100 years his brewery brewed and sold its beers exclusively in Brunswick Germany. It was not until 1734 that the brewery was taken over by Heinrich Levin Wolters, a move which shaped the brewery's history. The Brewery stayed in the Wolters family for more than six generations. In 1920 the brewery went public in a joint venture with Balhorn AG. Yet in 1943, at the height of World War Two, the brewery was nearly destroyed, with reconstruction not beginning until nearly four years later. The brewery continued to grow through the next thirty years and was significantly modernized in 1976. Now, nearly 400 years after it was started, Hofbrauhaus Wolters is privately owned once again and is growing with a renewed interest in development and export.
